چکیده

Abstract We aimed to investigate whether video-instructed dispatcher-assisted (DA)-cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) improved neurologic recovery and survival discharge compared audio-instructed DA-CPR in adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients a metropolitan city with sufficient experience facilities. A retrospective cohort study was conducted for bystander-witnessed OHCA administered due presumed etiology between January 1, 2018 October 31, 2019 Seoul, Korea. The primary secondary outcomes were the differences favorable outcome rates two instruction groups. Binary logistic regression analysis performed identify predictors after DA-CPR. total of 2109 enrolled. Numbers elderly audio video 1260 (73.2%) 214 (55.3%), respectively. Elderly those outside home or medical facility more likely receive instruction. Favorable observed who received (n = 75, 19.4%) than 117, 6.8%). rate also higher 105, 27.1%) 211, 12.3%). Video-instructed significantly associated (aOR 2.11, 95% CI 1.48–3.01) 1.81, 1.33–2.46) adjusting age, gender, underlying diseases CPR location. equipped facilities .

Effect of Dispatcher-Assisted Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Program and Location of Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest on Survival and Neurologic Outcome.

STUDY OBJECTIVE We study the effect of a nationwide dispatcher-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) program on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest outcomes by arrest location (public and private settings). METHODS All emergency medical services (EMS)-treated adults in Korea with out-of-hospital cardiac arrests of cardiac cause were enrolled between 2012 and 2013, excluding cases witnessed ...

Dispatcher-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation and survival in cardiac arrest.

BACKGROUND Early cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) improves survival in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and dispatcher-delivered instruction in CPR can increase the proportion of arrest victims who receive bystander CPR before emergency medical service (EMS) arrival. However, little is known about the survival effectiveness of dispatcher-delivered telephone CPR instruction. METHODS AND RESU...

Survey of a Protocol to Increase Appropriate Implementation of Dispatcher-Assisted Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest

Background—Dispatcher-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DA-CPR) attempts to improve the management of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) by laypersons who are unable to recognize cardiac arrest and are unfamiliar with CPR. Therefore, we investigated the sensitivity and specificity of our new DA-CPR protocol for achieving implementation of bystander CPR in OHCA victims not already recei...

Early cardiopulmonary resuscitation in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

BACKGROUND Three million people in Sweden are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Whether this training increases the frequency of bystander CPR or the survival rate among persons who have out-of-hospital cardiac arrests has been questioned. METHODS We analyzed a total of 30,381 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests witnessed in Sweden from January 1, 1990, through December 31, 2011, to...

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation duty cycle in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

BACKGROUND Duty cycle is the portion of time spent in compression relative to total time of the compression-decompression cycle. Guidelines recommend a 50% duty cycle based largely on animal investigation. We undertook a descriptive evaluation of duty cycle in human resuscitation, and whether duty cycle correlates with other CPR measures. METHODS We calculated the duty cycle, compression dept...
